Autumn is the time of year when I feel like creating something bold and colourful. This year again I just could not resist using these glorious autumn colours for my quilt!
I painted my central panel with silk paints on fine white cotton, embroidered it using viscose threads, and quilted it.
A beautiful landscape photograph was an inspiration for this quilt. I enjoyed using layers of embroidery thread over the painted background to achieve a sense of perspective and a light & shadow play.

ReplyDeleteI love how you quilted some leaves onto the frame as well! I never tried fabric paint but your leaves look so awesome that I want to give it a try, too! What a beautiful little piece of art!!!
